Isolated Rains and Thunderstorms to Continue in Andhra Pradesh Till April 20, Says IMD

NewsAffair360 | April 15, 2025 | Andhra Pradesh

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued isolated rainfall and thunderstorms across parts of Andhra Pradesh until April 20. Several regions in the state experienced light to moderate showers on Monday, offering some respite from the early summer heat.

According to weather reports:

  • Mylavaram and Sunkesula in Kadapa district
  • Kalumala Doddi and Katikapalli in Chittoor district
  • Boyalakuntla in Nandyal district

…received rainfall ranging between 10 mm and 30 mm.

While the showers brought relief to residents, they were accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas. Farmers have been advised to take precautions as sporadic rains may affect harvesting and storage of rabi crops.

The IMD also warned of occasional gusty winds and localized thunderstorms in the coming days, especially in Rayalaseema and south coastal Andhra regions.

Authorities are monitoring the situation, and people living in low-lying or lightning-prone zones are urged to stay alert.
