In a surprising development, over 25 students were unable to appear for the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 exam in Andhra Pradesh after they were reportedly delayed by traffic restrictions linked to Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s official convoy. The incident took place near the Pendurthi exam centre in Visakhapatnam, where traffic was allegedly halted, causing delays for many aspirants.

According to reports from news agency PTI, the affected candidates were not allowed entry into the exam centre as they arrived after the reporting deadline. The disruption was reportedly caused by security measures and roadblocks implemented for the movement of Pawan Kalyan’s convoy in the region.
Following public outrage and online criticism, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan took prompt action by ordering an official probe into the incident. His office issued a statement via social media platform X (formerly Twitter), directing the Visakhapatnam police to conduct a thorough inquiry.
“Deputy Chief Minister Sri @PawanKalyan has ordered an inquiry into the news reports that some students were unable to appear for the JEE exam in the Pendurthi area. How long was the traffic stopped for the convoy? What was the situation on the routes to the exam centre at that time? Was traffic control done on service roads?” — Official release
The statement further emphasized the need to identify the real cause of the delay and whether proper planning and alternative arrangements were made for exam day. Pawan Kalyan has asked officials to submit a report with all relevant details, including traffic diversions and their impact on student movement.
The incident has raised questions about VIP movement during crucial national-level exams and the need for better coordination between administration and law enforcement to avoid such mishaps.
