Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has called for strong action against Pakistan following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 people dead. Leading a candle march in Hyderabad, Reddy, joined by AIMIM’s Asaduddin Owaisi and other leaders, urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to merge Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) with India and assured full support from all citizens during this critical time.

Candle March Led by Revanth Reddy and Opposition Leaders

The Hyderabad candle march saw a rare show of unity among political leaders, with participants including AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi, former Union Minister Salman Khurshid, and Telangana ministers. International delegates attending the ‘Bharat Summit’ also joined the protest.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy recalled the leadership of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who had played a decisive role in the creation of Bangladesh in 1971. Addressing the gathering, Reddy said, “It was brave Indira Gandhi who split Pakistan. Today, a strong step is needed. Merge PoK with India. We are all with you.”

Nationwide Reactions After the Deadly Pahalgam Terror Attack

The Pahalgam terror attack, which took place at the popular tourist destination Baisaran in Jammu and Kashmir, resulted in the death of 25 Indian tourists and one Nepali citizen. It has been the deadliest attack in the Valley since Pulwama in 2019. The Resistance Front, a proxy group linked to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), claimed responsibility for the attack.

Following the incident, India announced strong measures: downgrading diplomatic ties with Pakistan, suspending visa services, and moving to revoke the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty. In retaliation, Pakistan closed its airspace to Indian flights and issued warnings regarding water-sharing agreements.

Calls for Unity Against Terrorism

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi visited the injured victims in Srinagar and urged for national unity to defeat the divisive intentions of terrorism. Gandhi emphasized that the terror attack aimed to divide society, but the people of India must stand united.

Meanwhile, AIMIM’s Asaduddin Owaisi distributed black armbands at local mosques and participated in peaceful protests, including one at the historic Charminar. Shopkeepers in Begum Bazar shut down their businesses in solidarity, and additional protests were held in areas like Malkajgiri.

The call for a strong, united stand against terrorism continues to echo across the nation as leaders and citizens demand decisive action.
